I keep going back to the Riverside Hotel each time I go to Ft Lauderdale. It is such a wonderful place to stay. Located on Las Olas Blvd. near shops, restaurants and art galeries. It is a very charming hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Many, many things to do when in Ft Lauderdale. One thing that is fun to do and not expensive, is to take a ride in the water taxi and see the city from the cannals. You can get on and off at many stops along the route. Of course there is the beach!! If you don't have a car, you can walk a few blocks from the hotel or catch the local bus that just runs back and forth to the beaches, or just relax by the quiet secluded swimming pool on the property. At the end of the day, have a drink out on the sidewalk cafe and watch the people stroll bye.

The daily parking charge for staying there was between $17-$24 a day. On top of that each time you took the car out (sometimes twice a day) you had to pay tips of $5 each - So that adds up to about $34 a day just for parking.

We stayed at the Riverside for two nights, and had a very pleasant experience. We found the staff very helpful and accomodating, and they met any requests we had quite easily. We were with a toddler, so the room was a little bit crowded with a crib in it. We were in the older section of the hotel, but found our room well-kept.

This property exceeded our expectations. Very beautiful property, great service and in a great location. Parking is $* if you self-park. Note that the older part of this property is not wired for internet, only the tower has internet. We stayed in the tower with a balcony on the 9th floor with a beautiful view. The room was HUGH! Very clean and quiet. Just a short drive to the beach.

Pros - well situated to restaurants and shopping on Las Olas. Was able to walk to Fort Lauderdale public beach - just under 2 milies, but was a straight shot down Las Olas. Staff was friendly and attentive, and responded quickly to issues. Pool area was nice and pool was clean. Cons - room was a bit rough around the edges. TV was broken and had to be replaced. Housekeeping forgot to leave coffee for coffee maker two out of four days. Maintenance work in and around pool area was noisy. Overall, I believe the hotel was okay but didn't quite live up to the expectations I had based on the online information.
